Halloween 2008 Project Trailer (About The Bell Witch)
Trailer for the documentary series I have been working on since July 2008. The project will be uploaded in earnest on October 24, 2008 but I will be uploading a video prior to that date containing some prefacing remarks. I may also upload another video containing some unrelated photographs which I took during my wanderings through various cemeteries over the past few weeks. Three movies were released between 2004-2007 about the Bell Witch Legend one of which was a major motion picture titled *An American Haunting.* An American Haunting received bad reviews and Bell Witch researchers, historians and enthusiasts alike were disappoionted that the legend was skewed to such a degree. However, I do like the following trailer for that motion picture starring Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj9Tu4… The drawing of Betsy Bell I used at the beginning of my trailer video was the one used in Martin Van Buren Ingram’s 1894 book *Authenticated History of the Bell Witch* but the drawing does not fit the physical description of Betsy in the book as she is described as having blonde hair. There exists what looks to be a photograph of Betsy Bell in the Adams Museum and it was taken toward the end of her life. She died in 1888 in Panola County, Mississippi and is buried in the Long Branch Cemetery there but her grave was vandalized in recent years. The drawing of the older man which appears near the end of the trailer video is an actual drawing of John Bell Jr. It is often used to depict John Bell as John Bell Jr. was described as being a carbon copy of his father.
